Books allow me to escape reality, this is the way I unwind and destress. I pick the books based on the little blurb it says about it, sometimes I will read reviews and I also value the recommendations and feedbacks from people I admire. I can eat, drink and fill my cup with books all day long. The cover of the book sometimes plays a role, but not really. I like mysteries and self help books the most, but also books about living in the early settlers days or simpler times.
A young Black girl in an America whose love for its blond, blue-eyed children can devastate all others—prays for her eyes to turn blue: so that she will be beautiful, so that people will look at her, so that her world will be different. This is the story of the nightmare at the heart of her yearning, and the tragedy of its fulfillment.
